Chameleon Digitization wins Innovator of the Year Award at the UK Housing Awards 2022. The IT solutions provider was nominated for its Chameleon Detect system, which safety for public sector tenants in Glasgow.
Chameleon Digitization supports housing associations and social landlords across the country to improve the health, safety, and well-being of tenants. Established more than 25 years ago and based in Glasgow, Chameleon work primarily with social housing providers in Scotland. It prides itself on developing creative technologies which improve housing for both housing providers and social tenants.
Chameleon Detect is an intelligent, autonomous safety solution which is designed to detect the presence of high-risk items in buildings. These items could be gas canisters, e-bikes, and mobility and e-scooters. It monitors entranceways of buildings, scanning for these high-risk items, instantly alerting a nominated contact if one is detected.
This innovative, cost-effective, and highly accurate technology hugely improves the security and well-being of tenants. It mitigates potentially fatal, complex, and expensive incidents taking place. Chameleon Detect is currently being used to great effect in Glasgow by social landlord ng homes. They have installed a system calibrated to detect tenants bringing canisters of gas, fuel, or oxygen into tower blocks.
UK Housing Awards 2022
At the UK Housing Awards, Chameleon Digitization was recognised for its innovative use of artificially intelligent software. It was also commended for its highly focused work with public sector clients. The panel stated “We were impressed by the use of AI to detect danger and keep residents safe at home. We also liked that 98% of their clients are social housing organisations.”
